If you wish to earn the Microsoft Certified Database Administrator on Microsoft SQL Server 2000, you must pass three core exams and one elective exam.
Note: MCDBAs on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 are not required to also pass the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 exams to retain MCDBA certification. Microsoft Windows 2000 Server exams and Windows Server 2003 exams for MCDBA on SQL Server 2000 certifications remain available concurrently.
To earn MCDBA certification, you must pass one SQL Server administration exam:
- 70–228: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition
After completion of Exam 70-228, you should take the following exam focusing on SQL Server design:
- 70–229: Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition
You must also take one Windows Server 2003 exam for fulfilling the networking systems core requirement.
